A funeral Mass will be said tomorrow at 10 a.m. in St.
James Church in Wellesley for John Slavin of Wellesley, a retired
executive engineer with New England Telephone. Mr. Slavin died
Monday in the New England Medical Center after a long illness. He
was 78.
Mr. Slavin was born in Brookline and had lived in Wellesley
for the past 50 years. He was a graduate of Brookline High School
and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Mr. Slavin was a executive engineer in the traffic division of
New England Telephone for 45 years, until his retirement in 1971.
