The Bolshoi Ballet Company in "Swan Lake" (Kultur Video,
127 minutes, color, $79.95.) Staging and choreography by
Yuri Grigorovich, music by Tchaikovsky.
The Bolshoi Ballet dancing on this tepid taped "Swan Lake" isn't
the same Bolshoi Ballet Bostonians saw during the recent "Making
Music Together" Soviet-American arts festival starring Maya
Plisetskaya. It's the other Bolshoi, the faction loyal to artistic
director/choreographer Yuri Grigorovich, who is not on the best of
terms with the company's fiery prima. But with more than 200
dancers -- twice as many as the biggest American companies -- the
Bolshoi can accommodate such divisions and dance undiminished.
