Question of the day: Will the Brits let Zola Budd twist
barefooted in the wind?
Answer: You bet they will.
The international track and field federation has ordered the
British Amateur Athletics Board to suspend Budd for a year for
showing up (but not competing) at a track meet in South Africa last
summer. If the BAAB doesn't, the IAAF says it may suspend the whole
British team from the Seoul Olympics and the African nations say
they'll boycott.
Budd is a British citizen, competed for the UK at Los Angeles
and spends most of her time in England. But her teammates
apparently are willing to toss her over the side if the alternative
