Article: DUKAKIS' DEFENSE VIEWS KEY TO BUSH OFFENSIVE

FULLERTON, Calif. - Vice President George Bush asserted yesterday that Gov. Michael S. Dukakis of Massachusetts holds national security views that are "naive at best" and would endanger the national defense if implemented.

Citing the governor's opposition to a number of strategic weapons, including the MX and Midgetman missile systems, Bush said Dukakis' views are "more the thinking of George McGovern, not Harry Truman. Even Jimmy Carter and Walter Mondale supported systems that Gov. Dukakis opposes."
