Article: THE SOUND ART OF RICHARD LERMAN RETURNS

Richard Lerman spent most of 1986 and '87 directing the Sound Art at Mobius projects, two series of performances by an international gallery of artists who, like Lerman, find wonder and inspiration in the sounds of the natural world. Supported by a major New Works grant from the Massachusetts Council on the Arts and Humanities, Lerman's enterprise brought some of the most creative explorers in the domain to Boston.

For '87-'88, however, Lerman, a member of the faculty at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts since 1973, was able to travel and concentrate on his own work: A prestigious Guggenheim Fellowship allowed him to present major works at New Music festivals in Zagreb, Yugoslavia ...
