How many of us have crawled out of bed in the morning, scratching
our heads in bewilderment over the night's dreams and wondering:
Could these seemingly nonsensical tales be telling us something
about our inner emotions?
And if our dreams are telling us something, just how important
is the message? Does it really take a therapist to decipher their
meaning?
Needless to say, such questions are the subject of heated
debate. Some dream researchers don't believe that dreams have
anything significant to say about our psyches. Others insist that
dreams are the "royal road to the unconscious," as Freud suggested.
