TANGERINE DREAM -- In concert with Andy Summers at the
Somerville Theater last night.
SOMERVILLE - Electronic trance music took center stage last
night at the Somerville Theater, where a sold-out crowd of 1,000
took a series of astral journeys with Germany's Tangerine Dream and
former Police guitarist Andy Summers. It was head-tripping of a
high order, even if some of it was a throwback to the days of Peter
Fonda and Ken Kesey, let alone to Pink Floyd. All that was missing
was an acid-spiked punch bowl in the lobby.
While some might call it a musical time-warp, others call it
the progressive wing of '80s New Age music. Which is as good a
definition as any, since Tangerine ...
