If you turned up the heat on Sept. 15, or have been hitting
the thermostat "to take the chill off" this month, chances are that
your house is uninsulated or underinsulated.
Of course, maybe you just like it extra warm. But none of us
like big heating bills, and insulation can help reduce those winter
bills.
Insulation is the most effective way to save on heat. Without
insulation, the most efficient heating system will not save much
heat. Instead, that heat will pour into the house and right out
again through uninsulated walls and ceilings.
Insulation is inexpensive. Fiberglass insulation is available
at 20 to 25 cents per square foot for 3 1/2-inch-thick material,
