FOXBOROUGH - Steve Grogan said yesterday he is considering
having surgery on an inflamed disc in his neck as soon as the
season ends.
"It is something I brought up to the doctors," said the
veteran Patriots quarterback, who has been in constant pain since
getting jarred against the Buffalo Bills Sept. 18. "The doctors
tell me that if it is just a single disc, then the rehab process
will only be about eight weeks and I can continue my career."
Even if the surgery is performed, Grogan, 35, is not certain
he will return. "It's something I have to sit down and think out
when the year is over," he said.
