NEW YORK - In one of Ivan Lendl's more fulfilling weeks, he
returned to competition after shoulder surgery, helped make a
contender out of Jakob Hlasek, and won three matches under the
threat of elimination. Tonight he can earn his fourth straight
Nabisco Masters championship, if, according to Hlasek, Lendl can
just calm down a little.
"I think he just wants it too badly, to win too badly," Hlasek
said when asked to explain Lendl's unsettled play earlier this
week, which included a three-set loss to Hlasek. "He's very
nervous. It's just a match in a way. You have to relax and try to
