Article: DAMON PROSECUTOR SAYS NONE OF DEFENDANT'S ALIBIS HELD UP

DEDHAM - The man accused of murdering 31-year-old Lois Damon in her Braintree variety store nearly two years ago gave police four different stories to account for his whereabouts at the time of the murder, none of which held up, the prosecutor said yesterday.

In her opening remarks in the Norfolk Superior Court trial of William E. Buckley, 34, of Holbrook, Assistant District Attorney Judy A. Cowin said she would show that Buckley had tried to construct a new alibi every time police confronted him with contradictory evidence.

Buckley is charged with robbing Damon of about $1,800, trying to rape her, and killing her sometime around 6:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, 1986.
