Imagine if the Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Cubs had played each
other on the final weekend of the 2007 season.
Instead of being eliminated on the last Friday night in a loss to
San Diego, while Chicago was thumping the injury-depleted Cincinnati
Reds, the Brewers could have gone head-to-head with the Cubs for the
National League Central crown.
Those longing for such a showdown might get their wish in 2008.
The Brewers on Thursday announced their schedule for next season and
not only are the Brewers opening the season in Chicago, they are
ending it at home against the Cubs.
