As he walked off the field at Giants Stadium following a 20-6
loss to New York on Sunday, Dallas Cowboys guard Nate Newton wore
the trembling face of a child whose favorite toy had been snatched
right out of his hands. Some 20 minutes later, the massive lineman
sat alone in the visiting locker room, that same face buried in his
hands. His legs twitching involuntarily, Newton only occasionally
would raise his head and shake it from side to side.
After another five minutes, he rose to take a shower. Passing
a reporter, the team's usually loquacious funnyman whispered, "I
just don't have anything for you right now."
