The Northeast Lumbermen held their annual conventidon last weekend, and there were no log-rolling contests, no chain-saw competitions and no running up and down trees to see who does it fastest. There wasn't even a plaid lumberjacket to be seen.

No, the lumbermen are defnitely not lumberjacks. They are, instead, lumber dealers, and they deal in a lot more than lumber. Anything that goes into a house, they handle.

At the convention was an exhibit area where manufacturers of everything from plastic molding to wood windows display their wares, hoping to sell to the lumbermen, who, in turn, sell to you and me.
