Article: Jury Convicts TV Talk Show Guest of Murder; Man Revealed Crush In `Jenny Jones' Taping

A onetime "Jenny Jones Show" guest was convicted today of second-degree murder for fatally shooting a gay admirer who revealed his crush during a taping of the TV talk show.

Jurors opted against the more serious charge of first-degree murder against Jonathan Schmitz, which would have carried an automatic life sentence without parole. Second-degree murder carries a sentence of up to life in prison. Sentencing was set for Dec. 4.
