Omigosh. It's 4 o'clock and I haven't written a word. Deadline's
just an hour away. I'll just slip this "Stop Procrastination"
cassette into my trusty tape recorder . . .
A reassuring voice oozes out of the speaker: "Imagine yourself
achieving the goals you set . . ." Hmmm. That would be nice.
Next I hear the sound of running water, not unlike the leaky
toilet bowl I fixed over the weekend. Gurgle gurgle glug. Then the
tortured cries of seagulls. Caaaawww. Caaaawww. Here comes the
crypto-Chariots of Fire Muzak, recorded in "3-D" sound. Ahhh, that
feels better. The 20,000 subliminal messages are kicking in. Whew.
I can write again.
