Matt Mullican deals in symbols and signs, but instead of pointing
the way, his imagery stops you in your tracks to ask, "Huh?"
Familiar shapes that, in ordinary contexts, you understand as
targets or wavy water or internationally recognized restroom signs
or corporate logos, here are both less and more than their mundane
selves.
