PHILADELPHIA - Call it a no-fault loss.
How can you possibly point fingers at any of the Celtics who
grappled with the Philadelphia 76ers before succumbing in overtime,
117-115, at the Spectrum last night?
We could be cruel and point out the team's record is 0-19 on
the road against clubs with winning records. We could be kind and
reiterate the locals were trying to pull out a W in the absence of
Larry Bird, Kevin McHale and Jim Paxson.
Or we could be honest: The effort was worthy of plenty of
superlatives, but the results remained unrewarding -- again.
This in spite of a career-high 39 points from Reggie Lewis,
who hit some big, big baskets, yet watched in dismay as one of the ...
