Article: GILCHRIST REACTED WITH OUTBURST TO CRITICISM, FORMER BOSS SAYS

When confronted with evidence of his poor performance at Digital Equipment Corp. eight years ago, Lonnie L. Gilchrist Jr. leaped from his seat, ripped off his glasses and accused his supervisors of setting him up for failure, a former executive at Digital testified yesterday.

"He looked very, very angry. We were frightened," said Arthur Hanson, former manager of production at Digital. "He said we were out to get him and he said 'We'll see who gets who.' I wondered what led to the sudden outburst."

Defense lawyers for Gilchrist, who is on trial in Suffolk Superior Court on a charge of first-degree murder, are trying to show that Gilchrist suffered from a longstanding personality ...
