Article: A NEW MUSIC HARVEST WILL TO BE REAPED IN OCTOBER

What the Boston Early Music Festival is to long-dead composers played on old instruments, a brand new venture called the New Music Harvest/Boston 1989 hopes to be to the hear and now. The initial gathering of this harvest is the final week of October.

Two years in the planning, the festival has been shaped by composer Charles Fussell, who teaches at Boston University. He had expert advice from three other composers -- Lukas Foss, Henry Threadgill and Christopher Kendall -- who, as outsiders, could keep Boston's dazzling riches in perspective.
