A funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. today in St.
Christine's Church in Marshfield for James J. Farrell of
Marshfield, retired New England sales manager for Union Carbide
Corp.
Mr. Farrell died of a heart attack Sunday at Winthrop
Hospital. He was 68 and also had a home in Winthrop.
Mr. Farrell began his career in 1946 with American Chemical
Paint Co. of Ambler, Pa., which was acquired by Union Carbide.
After his retirement in 1985, he became a writer and photographer
for Cape Cod Seniors, a monthly published by his son James J. Jr.
of Kingston.
Born in Boston, he graduated from Boston Latin School and
attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. During World
