Mayor Flynn virtually pronounced his appointed school board
referendum campaign dead yesterday, even before it has begun in
earnest.
"I don't think it's going to win," Flynn said of his Option A
plan for a seven-member School Committee appointed by the mayor,
one of three options for voters to choose in a nonbinding
referendum in November.
Nine days ago, Flynn's Better Education Campaign, drawing
heavily on his own political organization, held its kickoff
fund-raiser for an intensive six-week citywide campaign for the
