Article: ROBERT MCMAHON UMASS GRADUATE STUDENT; AT 40

Robert J. (Bo) McMahon, a graduate student at the University of Massachusetts-Boston, died of a heart attack Thursday in New England Medical Center, where he was being treated for complications from juvenile diabetes. He was 40 and lived in Boston.

Mr. McMahon's disease, first diagnosed when he was 14, caused the loss of his eyesight 10 years ago. In 1982 he received a kidney transplant donated by his sister.

A native of Brookline and 1967 graduate of Lynnfield High School, Mr. McMahon graduated magna cum laude the UMass in 1988 with a bachelor's degree in psychology. He pursued a master's degree in psychology at UMass until last spring.
