Dennis Erickson, who coached the University of Miami Hurricanes to
two college football national championships, is expected to be
introduced Thursday as the new coach of the Seattle Seahawks,
according to news reports.
The Seahawks scheduled a news conference for Thursday in Palo
Alto, Calif., where Erickson is coaching in the East-West Shrine
Game.
Tom Flores was fired as Seattle's coach and general manager on
Dec. 29. The Seahawks started the 1994 season 3-1, but stumbled
thereafter and finished with a 6-10 record. The Seahawks had the same
record in 1993, and this season, attendance fell at the Kingdome.
