Listen to Adam Ferrecchia, manager of the Framingham branch
of Newbury Comics music store, which sells New Kids on the Block
albums and other paraphernalia, including posters.
"A lot of them just see the stuff," he said, of the New Kids'
fans, "and they start screaming, literally, at the top of their
lungs -- they start drooling all over the merchandise."
Or, here's Ken Czar, a co-owner of Button-Up Co., a Michigan
firm, whose 12-year-old daughter turned him on to the New Kids, and
who now has 17 factories working overtime producing New Kids
souvenirs.
His own work force has mushroomed, from 30 people working one
shift a year ago to more than 300 working triple shifts, sometimes ...
