Article: CITY COUNCIL SEEKS THE AUTHORITY TO REMOVE CAMPBELL AS CITY CLERK

The City Council initiated legislation yesterday that would empower the body to remove City Clerk John Campbell, who is under investigation by a state grand jury for possible embezzlement.

The measure would give the Committee on Rules and Administration monitoring power over council employees, while leaving the final decision on personnel matters to the entire council, according to president Christopher Iannella.
