HOLBROOK - It happened in Dorchester, when five local boys
suddenly turned into teen-age heartthrobs known as the New Kids on
the Block. It happened in Roxbury, when five boys from housing
projects became the fabulously popular band New Edition. Why
couldn't it happen here?
Three cheerleaders from Holbrook Junior/Senior High School
believe it could. Together with a student from Somerville, the
four are members of a new all-girl pop group called Ivory Soul. The
group has a professional manager and is planning to cut its first
album this summer.
"They are genuinely sweet and they genuinely have talent,"
