Grammy Award-winning soprano Dawn Upshaw will not make her next
CD with her fellow Nonesuch recording artists, the Boston Symphony
Chamber Players, although the disc of music composed in Paris
between 1906 and 1915 has long been announced as a "forthcoming
release."
Instead, Upshaw will probably make the record with an ensemble
drawn from New York free-lance players and members of the Boston
Chamber Music Society. A week after an unhappy collaboration with
the BSO Chamber Players last February, Upshaw enjoyed a successful
working relationship with the BCMS.
Upshaw also canceled her appearance with the BSO Chamber
Players at Tanglewood last week, although she sang last night with
