Not only did the Loudoun County boys basketball earn a first-
round victory in the Virginia AA Northwestern District tournament
last night, but the Raiders had the extra pleasure of eliminating
arch rival Loudoun Valley in the process.
Chris Lillis made 1 of 2 free throws with 1.4 seconds left
provided Loudoun County with a 48-47 victory over Loudoun Valley in
Leesburg. Freshman forward Josh Fisher scored 19 points for the
Raiders (11-10), who continued their recent dominance in a series
that dates back 33 years.
Lillis, Loudoun County's leading scorer, was late to Monday's
practice and did not start last night, but he still played a pivotal
role for the Leesburg school, which finished sixth ...
