As summer advances and the weather warms up, thoughts stray to
faraway places for fun and frolic.
This weekend there are two promising festivals just far enough
away from Boston (but not too far) to provide a delightful day trip.
In Rhode Island, the big occasion is the Big Easy Bash, the annual
celebration of Louisiana's Cajun culture at the Stepping Stone Ranch
in Escoheag, Rhode Island's tiniest town, which is part of West
Greenwich. You can dance the Cajun two-step; sample shrimp
jambalaya, crawfish pie and file gumbo; and listen to the music of
the Charmaine Neville Band, John Delafose and the Eunice Playboys,
