French choreographer Roland Petit is not entirely happy with "Chaplin Dances," the English title of his ballet featuring the great tragicomedianCharlie Chaplin as its main character and subject. He strongly prefers the original French "Charlot Danse Avec Nous," which translates to "Charlie, Dance With Us." Petit likes the less pretentious, more casual tone of the French title, particularly its reference to "Charlot" ("Charlie") rather than Chaplin.
