Article: Annulment attempt puzzles Sheila Kennedy

Sheila Rauch Kennedy yesterday said that her ex-husband, Rep. Joseph P. Kennedy 2d, is attempting to invalidate through annulment their 12-year marriage even though it took place after extensive consultations with Catholic clergy and a long courtship.

In a telephone interview, she explained her opposition to the congressman's attempt to seek an annulment, a so-called "Catholic divorce." She said that they both participated in lengthy discussions with his parish priest and her family priest before their 1979 wedding.
