Article: Pauline J. Brest, 63 North Shore interior decorator

A funeral service will be held today for Pauline J. (Opper) Brest, a North Shore interior decorator, who died of Lou Gehrig's disease yesterday in her home in Swampscott. She was 63.

Mrs. Brest was born in Newton and graduated from Newton High School.

As a self-employed interior decorator, she oversaw the furnishings of many North Shore homes and institutions, including Temple Emanu-El in Marblehead.

Mrs. Brest also helped raise funds for a number of cultural and charitable causes. She had been hostess of the North Shore Cancer Ball and a board member of both North Shore ...
