No boycott.
That was the announcement yesterday by the Black Coaches
Association as the group postponed its threatened disruption of this
weekend's college basketball games.
The compromise occurred after the BCA leadership met with members
of the Black Congressional Caucus, who asked the Justice Department
to help in mediating a dispute between the black coaches and NCAA
over decreased athletic scholarships and proposed higher academic
standards.
"We have agreed to delay the boycott," said Drake coach Rudy
Washington, head of the BCA.
