It's the old story: Boy meets monster. But it's given nifty new
twists, and jazzed up with super special effects, in "Sandkings," the
premiere of "The Outer Limits," a new anthology of supremely weird
tales on Showtime, the pay-cable network.
The original "Outer Limits," which aired on ABC in the '60s,
probably stands second only to "The Twilight Zone" among all-time
best TV fantasy shows. Showtime will produce 43 new "Outer Limits"
episodes to carry on the illustrious name and franchise. "Sandkings,"
premiering tomorrow night at 8, is a two-hour movie, but the rest of
the episodes, airing on Fridays, will be an hour each.
