Article: Rev. Gardiner H. Shattuck, at 83; was minister at Trinity Church

Rev. Gardiner H. Shattuck, former assistant minister of Trinity Church in Boston, died Thursday in Sherrill House in Boston, the nursing home he had served as chaplain for more than 20 years. He was 83.

Rev. Shattuck was born in Providence. He graduated from Brown University in 1933 and the Episcopal Theological School in Cambridge in 1936. During his junior year in college he studied at the Sorbonne in Paris.

He was ordained to the Episcopal ministry in 1936 and served as assistant minister at Trinity Church from 1936 to 1939. He then became vicar of Grace Church in Dalton and chaplain of the Pomfret
