Article: `Salute' raises $200,000 for BSO

"Salute to Symphony," the annual fund-raising and community outreach event presented by the Boston Symphony Orchestra, broadcast by WCRB-FM and telecast on WCVB, raised more than $200,000 for the BSO and drew nearly 8,000 visitors to the open house at Symphony Hall Saturday afternoon.

The fund-raising was targeted for the BSO's educational and outreach programs, including the Youth Concerts, the Boston Music Education Collaborative, Days in the Arts at Tanglewood and Project STEP, a string-training program for young musicians from minority communities.
