Stop & Shop is seeking to expand its Memorial Drive store. As
part of its plan, the company is asking the Metropolitan District
Commission to exempt it from the Memorial Drive truck ban. Last week
the MDC formally stated its opposition, putting a kink in the
supermarket's expansion plan. City weekly staffer Kristie
Tillinghast and Globe photographer Michael Quan went to the Cambridge
store to ask shoppers if the MDC should allow Stop & Shop trucks to
drive on Memorial Drive in order to service the store.
