Article: Burks begins again Ex-Sox center fielder sees future in Colorado

TUCSON -- The lessons he learned in Boston have served him well in life. Ellis Burks is alive and well with the Colorado Rockies, and the future is bright once again. Burks has no regrets about leaving the Chicago White Sox, winners of the American League West last year, after one season to join an expansion club. During the offseason, he signed a three-year guaranteed contract worth an estimated $9 million. He and the Rockies are hoping the back problems that led to his departure from the Red Sox in 1992 are behind him.

And Burks has no regrets about being an ex-Red Sox. In fact, he says he now is pleased that Boston gave him his release in November
