William F. Cruger, retired creative director for Dean Wolfe and
Associates advertising, died Monday at his home in Salem. He was
88.
Mr. Cruger was born in New York City. After graduating from the
New York School of Fine and Applied Arts, he became a singer at the
Choir School of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine and assistant
tenor soloist at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in New York City. He
also sang regularly on radio stations throughout New York.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
Mr. Cruger had been creative director for Dean Wolfe and
Associates ...
