Article: The Three Tenors: a major production

The Three Tenors reunite July 16 in the Los Angeles Dodgers Stadium. The concert by Jose Carreras, Placido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti is the final event of World Cup USA 1994. Promoter Tubor Rudas modestly refers to the concert as "one of the landmark events marking the close of the twentieth century." It will be televised nationwide live by PBS, and Warner Brothers-Teldec is preparing the CD for release within a month of the concert. The telecast -- to be aired locally at 11 p.m. -- will be directed by WGBH's Bill Cosel.
