LENOX -- Down the road from the mansion where Edith Wharton
entertained Henry James, across the street from the Serge
Koussevitzky Music Shed and Seiji Ozawa Hall, you sneak past the
little red cabin where Nathaniel Hawthorne rusticated and you find
yourself in a setting of technology run amok.
If you can imagine a scene that looks like a cross between Norman
Rockwell and "Blade Runner," you have a sense of how technology is
plugging into ruralism for what may be some of the most intriguing
music-making of the Tanglewood summer.
The barn behind the Hawthorne house has been converted into a
studio that will be the television home for a series of four programs
featuring Wynton Marsalis ...
