Article: Liquor store will stay shut Application withdrawn

EAST BOSTON -- Neighborhood activists used to battling with Logan Airport over turf, noise and air pollution claimed a smaller but significant victory last week in a battle to keep a liquor store from reopening.

At a community meeting Aug. 17, the East Boston Pier Project Advisory Committee (PierPAC) in conjunction with the Jeffries Point Neighborhood Association and the Boston Police had planned a vocal assault on a local resident's plan to reopen Festas Liquor Store on Sumner Street.
