On Friday afternoon, Peter McNeeley left his home in Medfield for
the weekend after talking with his manager about a fight Oct. 8 at
the Whitman Armory against someone named Butch Kelly. Today he will
fly to New York to sign a contract to fight for the World Boxing
Council heavyweight championship in December against newly crowned
title-holder Oliver McCall. Things change quickly in the heavyweight
division.
Just ask Lennox Lewis and Riddick Bowe.
They were supposed to rule the division for the foreseeable future
after Bowe defeated undisputed champion Evander Holyfield two years
ago and then gave up the WBC portion of the title in a dispute over
