Oh no, not another story on insulation! The energy crisis is so
long ago (in the '70s) that everyone seems to have forgotten it. And
today's oil and gas prices are tolerable enough, perhaps, for
homeowners to tolerate the heat bills.
Houses built today are well-insulated, with tight doors and
double-glazed windows, according to updated codes and product
improvements. Owners of such houses don't have to worry about
insulation and other fuel-saving factors.
But there are a lot of old houses out there, un-insulated or
under-insulated.
Why insulate? A simple answer to a simple question: Insulation is
