He comes by his wintry knowledge honestly, having been born and
raised in Boston. Now Kevin J. Devine, a recent arrival in
Washington, has put that knowledge to good use. He reigns as our
March neologism contest winner -- and he has snowbanks to thank.
Like about 3,000 fellow aficionados of Levey's monthly make-up-a-
word contest, Kevin faced this challenge:
Snow has blanketed the metropolitan area, but it won't keep you
homebound. You've just spent two hours shoveling your driveway so you
can use your parked buggy. As you catch your breath and admire your
handiwork, a plow comes down the street and pushes a huge mound of
