The weight of the world lies squarely on Pearl Jam's shoulders.
It can't be easy battling child abuse, teen suicide, homelessness and
Ticketmaster service fees -- issues that have preoccupied Pearl Jam
in recent times. It's enough to wear down anyone.
But Pearl Jam -- the pride of Seattle rock 'n' roll now that
Nirvana is gone -- hasn't let any of these distractions halt the flow
of great music. Pearl Jam's new album, "Vitalogy," which comes out
today in vinyl form (with CDs and cassettes to follow Dec. 6) is
another flat-out winner.
It's the third album in a row -- after the mega-selling "Ten" and
"Vs." -- that should have critics and fans gasping for superlatives.
