Article: Sen. Kennedy expresses doubts about working with some in GOP

Sen. Edward M. Kennedy said yesterday he is trying to find common ground with the Republicans taking over Washington, but expressed reservations about the tactics and agenda of several key GOP leaders.

Kennedy said he had already talked with Sen. Nancy Kassebaum of Kansas, who will be replacing him as chairman of the Committee on Labor and Human Resources. He expects to have more detailed discussions with her about the committee's agenda in the near future.

"Clearly, people in Massachusetts and the country want us to find common ground in working together," he said.
