Article: Rolf Sterling, 68 Owned pastry shop in Natick

Rolf R. Sterling of Natick, the former owner of Rollie's Pastry Shop in Natick, died of complications from leukemia Wednesday in the MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham. He was 68.

Born in Germany, Mr. Sterling and his family fled to Palestine when the Nazi's took power.

In Israel he served in the Hagganah, the Jewish resistance group that preceded the Israeli Army. He later served in both the Israeli Navy and Army during the War of Independence that began in 1948.
