I'm not one of those squeaky femmes with lacquered nails,
lacquered hair and an aversion to sweaty professional sports. Before
I was 10 years old, my father made sure I could decipher the action
on a football field, and as an adult I barely managed not to deck the
first guy who offered this unsolicited aid: "You can tell the teams
apart because they wear different colors. Now let me explain to you
what a `down' is."
But I truly enjoy being a woman, and I've learned not to do battle
with the innate fashion sense that accompanies that gift. For
instance, I was a rabid Seattle Seahawks fan for two years simply
because their logo was slammin' and the colors looked good on me.
